Obremski/Works (O/W) was founded in 2018 by Director and Choreographer Jesse Obremski. O/W is a nationally and internationally presented, AAPI equity-minded, New York City Based contemporary company with an emphasis on Dance Films and AAPI Support Fellowships. O/W's first creation, No Words, was presented at Lincoln Center through HBO and the Dance Films Associations. Among O/W’s repertory includes other notable award-winning creations such as Opportunity and In-Visible, and has been selected for various residencies in New York City.

In 2022, O/W released its inaugural AAPI Support Fellowship, the VISION Fellowship, for collegiate-attending AAPI artists, and in 2023, the VOYAGER Fellowship, for international AAPI artists in the United States. O/W is currently in Phase 1 of expansion with the process of becoming a 501(c)3 incorporated organization and company.

  • The VISION Fellowship immerges from the need to support developing AAPI artists in collegiate or university settings, with support to immerse themself within the field and work being showcased. The financial stipend allows space for the Fellow to cultivate a voice for themself by seeing performances and engaging with the arts community. With mentorship from Obremski/Works Founder/Artistic Director Jesse Obremski and Obremski/Works Associate Jie-Hung Connie Shaiu, the Fellow receives year-round support for what they imagine and envision their future to be.

  • The VOYAGER Fellowship stems from deep empathy for those who go through the VISA process. This fellowship is geared toward supporting the cultural sharing and diversity of our arts field in New York with international artists to the United States. The Fellow must be applying for their O-1 VISA in the year of the award in which the financial stipend is geared towards. In partnership with Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance, OUR PATHS, and Peter Stathas Dance, the Fellow will be supported with access to VISA application workshop(s), performance/choreographic opportunities, and receive a letter of recommendation from Obremski/Works Founder/Artistic Director Jesse Obremski.
